Message of Love by The Pretenders Ukulele Chords

Now the reason we’re here
As man and woman
Is to love each other
Take care of each other
When love walks in the room
Everybody stand up
Oh it’s good, good, good
Like Brigitte Bardot

Now look at the people
In the streets, in the bars
We are all of us in the gutter
But some of us are looking at the stars
Look round the room
Life is unkind
We fall but we keep gettin’ up
Over and over and over and over and over and over

repeat 9 times

Me and you, every night, every day
We’ll be together always this way
Your eyes are blue like the heavens above
Talk to me darlin’ with A message of love

Now the reason we’re here
Every man, every woman
Is to help each other
Stand by each other
When love walks in the room
Everybody stand up
Oh it’s good, good good
Say I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you

repeat 4 times

Talk to me darlin’

Precious by The Pretenders Ukulele Chords

First song from the enonymous album of the greatest band ever on the face of this earth.
Have been playing this song for years and i think its pretty damn accurate.
Corroborated by live performances by the band in newcastle. and the LA dvd etc.
Rhythm note durations are included, but you might want to ignore them.

Basically, the chords could be 5th “power” chords or major bar chords as you choose.
I think top half of the bar is used for most of the track.

I hope to get more of the pretenders punk moments online, they seem neglected by tabbers!:o

BREAK UP THE CONCRETE
By Chrissie Hynde – Pretenders

Rhythmically fast with that Bo Diddley beat.
Intro has vocal over drums first two lines:

There was a red brick road where I grew up on

And a pretty stone wall round a fragrant lawn

Fish in the pond that sparkled in the dawn
But it ain?t no more it?s all gone gone gone

Whoa! Ram it, Cram it, Grand Slam it, Break up the concrete,
Prod it, Sod it, Metal Rod it, Break up the concrete
Thwak it, Crack it, Lineback it, Break up the concrete
Shake it, Bake it, Earthquake it, Break up the concrete
Break up the concrete, Break up the concrete

Acappella: Dak Dak Dak Dak Dagga Dagga Dagga Dagga

Instrumental: D A E A D A E A

And the depot over there right next to the tracks
That the slaves put down, while breaking their backs
But those Texas zoo no would ever get into a carriage
Or anything that might lead to an interracial marriage

Instrumental:

Now don?t tell me its progress cause that?s just a lie
And don?t even try to come with an excuse why!
We we?re so busy worrying about them dropping the bomb
We didn?t notice where our enemy was really coming from!
Hey boys c?mon let?s do it!

One more time

Break up the concrete Break up the concrete

Now he who laid it, come back here and raid it, Break up the concrete
Break up the concrete Break up the concrete
Break up the concrete Break up the concrete

Acappella: Dak Dak Dak Dak Dagga Dagga Dagga Dagga

pulled off, then put on in time with the beat.

Welcome to the human race
With it’s wars, disease and brutality
You with your innocence and grace
With still some pride and dignity
To a world in decline

Welcome to the special place
In a heart of stone it’s cold and grey
You with your angelface
Keep the despair at bay and send it away

Show me the meaning of the world
Show me the meaning of the world
’Cause I’ve heard so much about it
Now, I don’t wanna live without it
Now, I don’t wanna live without it

Oh, I want love
Oh, I want love
Oh, I want love

Welcome here from outer space
The milky way’s still in your eyes
You find yourself a hopeless case
When you’re seeking perfection on earth
As some kind of rebirth

Show me the meaning of the word
Show me the meaning of the word
’Cause I’ve heard so much about it
Don’t make me live without it

Oh, I want love
Oh, I want love
Oh, I want love

Now the reason we’re here
As man and woman
Is to love each other
Take care of each other
When love walks in the room
Everybody stand up
Oh it’s good, good, good
Like Brigitte Bardot

We’ll be together always this way

Talk to me darlin’ with A message of love

Now the reason we’re here
Every man, every woman
Is to help each other
Stand by each other
When love walks in the room
Everybody stand up
Oh it’s good, good good
Say I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
